For and against essay (Javier González)

Would you like to have 3 day weekend?

I have been asking myself this question for a long time , so I will write about the advantages and disadvantages of this issue. Imagine a week that had 3-day weekend. Everyone would think "finally the weekend is here and we can sleep, rest, and go out with you friends ...". But would it be really good for us to have a 3-day weekend?

Many people would like to have 3 free days in a week because then they would have more time to do other things not related to work or school. For students would be very good because we would have more days to study, and to do more homework ...For adults it would be a period to forget about work, spend more time with children at home...

On the other hand, there are many people who say that 3 days off per week is not a good idea because people would "disconnect" from the working days and the students would also "disconnect", from their studies. If we had 1 more day of vacation people would work one day less and we would receive less money . I don't think this is a good idea with the crisis we have in these days.

In my opinion I wouldn't change the format of the week, 5 weekdays and 2 weekend days. I think people prefer this type of week because they are used to it. And I think working 4 days a week woould be a change difficult to assume by people in our society.

For and against essay (Diego Rosso)

Is 18 a very good age to leave home?

When you are 18 years old you may think "Wow, now I'm a man!" (Not really, you are still a young boy so don't get happy so soon) and thanks to that now you can do a lot of things that were forbidden before (well, those "things"were illegal but not forbidden because you did them), and one of them is to leave home and start living on your own. But, is it a good idea to leave home at 18?

There are a lot of advantages when leaving home at 18 : you can do whatever you want in your new apartment/house, you won't have your parents bugging you all the time saying "tidy your room", "do this and that", and so on. You can start to feel free, you can arrive home whenever you want to, invite home whoever you want, eat what you want, make parties.... Because it's your house. If you weren't allowed to have pets in your parent's home, now you can have them. It's Freeland!

All this sounds pretty good but there are also a few disadvantages. You will have to pay a rent in your new house, you will have to clean the house even if you don't want to and you will feel alone unless you share the new house with a mate. You will miss your parents as well, although you were tired of them, you will miss them, everyone does it. You will have to cook your own food (or if you are lazy one day you can call Pizzahut for a fast dinner) and all these things will use a lot of your time. In addition you won't have all that free time you used to have when you lived at your parents house.

In my opinion to start a new life sounds pretty cool but be aware because it's no that cool, you will have a lot of responsibility with you. A house is not only used for eating and sleeping, it has also other responsibilities, cleaning up, cooking, etc. The best idea if you are leaving home, is to find a mate so in that way the rent will be you less expensive and responsabilities can be shared. If you are going to leave at the age of 18 think it carefully and think if you are going to be able to deal with all those responsibilities. If you are not ready, don't worry, take your time... you will leave home one day, so no need to rush!

For and against essay (William Wu He)

It’s 18 a very good age to leave home?

This is a good question… Like in everything, it depends. To leave home is a big decision, because you have to survive by your own skills, and you will have to improve your skills day after day.

On the one hand 18 is a good age to leave home because some people need to feel "fresh air in their face" and get freedom. Some people who live with their parents, are drowning in their own homes and they need to breathe fresh air outside their families. This type of people normally need their own vital space, as you can see in some commercials of cars on TV, where the driver is surrounded by an aura of colours, and I don't think you can get it living with your parents.

But on the other hand leaving home is not good because some people are very dependent on their parents, and to leave home means that there’s no mum to make your lunch, to wash and iron your clothes, and so on...If you are lazy it’s not a good idea to leave home.

In my opinion to leave home when you're 18 years old is something good. I want to live on my own because I want to feel this experience in spite of working at home and doing all the house tasks by myself.
